Frequently Asked Questions About Lovebird Fest
What exactly is this event?
This casual, non-traditional reception celebrates our June 2026 elopement! Think family reunion, wedding after-party, and mini music festival all rolled into one. We’re throwing a party that feels authentic to us to share in the love with all our favorite people.
While there won’t be a ceremony, we have many other exciting things in store! In addition to a good meal, we’ll debut our wedding video, share in some special dances, and enjoy a few toasts. And of course, DJ Ben will be running the dance party!
What is Saxapahaw Country Club?
SCC is a passion project of our hosts, Wes + Caitlin! They offer primitive campsite rentals on HipCamp on their 31-acre property, which they’ve been shaping into their dream event and hosting space.
From their website– “When deciding what to name our ‘club in the country’, we kept returning to Saxapahaw Country Club. Aware of the history of classism, exclusivity, and the obvious lack of ‘country’ that a typical country club is often associated with, we set out to flip the script.”
Expect a beautiful pine forest, a half-acre pond, and a swing on a 200-year-old oak tree!
When should I arrive?
The event is from 4-10pm. Feel free to arrive anytime during happy hour from 4-5pm! No need to arrive before then as there is no ceremony or timed event to rush in for.
I don’t see my kids on my invite, can they come?
While we adore your little ones, Lovebird Music Fest is intended to be an adults-only event. If you’re traveling from out of town and would like assistance finding a sitter, feel free to reach out to us!
Can I bring a plus one?
Please refer to the names listed on your invitation. We planned this intimate and personal event to be our closest family and friends, so we’re only able to accommodate the specified guests.
What should I wear?
Think elevated comfort for a summer evening in the woods!
Sundresses, skirts, jumpsuits, boots, sandals, polos, button-downs, nice tees, and jeans are all welcome.
We’ll be outdoors at a campground, so prioritize shoes you can walk/dance in and outfits you’ll feel good wearing all night. Avoid heels that would sink into the forest floor (or heels at all tbh). No need to sport a suit or tie.
September evenings can cool off, so consider bringing a light jacket.
Festival flair is welcomed and encouraged 🙂
Will the event be outside?
Yes! Most of the events will take place outside across the 31-acre campground. In the event of rain, there is a large barn on the property where we can keep the party going!
Will food and drinks be provided?
Heck yeah!! There will be a catered dinner and plenty of drinks to go around.
Do you have a registry?
We mean it when we say your presence is all we could hope for!! If you’d still like to peruse, we have some options listed on the registry tab of this site.
Where do we park?
There is parking in a grassy lot on the venue’s property, so just route directly to Saxapahaw Country Club. There will be signage and a parking assistant to help direct you!
Can I bring my dog / pets?
Unfortunately, pets are not permitted for this celebration.
